Toastmasters’ Communication and Leadership Program offers a roadmap to success for both, with its program of progressively more demanding speeches that call on the most important speaking and presentation skills.
As of the beginning of our new term 2009/2010, there are about 341 clubs within District 51 which provides a challenging but yet supportive environment, constructive evaluations, and mentors help each member achieve their potential.
Many of the members have been with toastmasters for years because, even after mastering basic presentation skills—and in some cases going on to careers as professional speakers—they find the club offers opportunities in leadership, mentoring, and achieving proficiency in specialized presentations.
I first created this Group in the hope that we can generate more ideas and receive advice from those who have achieved success. It is intended that you post questions as well as event happening around your club, areas or even division so more participation can be created.
Visit the District 51 website at www.tmdistrict51.org and find out more about how joining or forming a Toastmasters club near you can help YOU become a better speaker!
District 51 consists of Toastmasters clubs in Brunei,Indonesia & Malaysia.
When we first join a club, we immediately rely on the support and understanding of fellow club members. We bore our souls to a group of strangers when we delivered our first speeches, risking failure and ridicule.
But instead,we found support and empathy from people who motivate us and want us to succeed. Those strangers soon become friends. They help us become the best person we can be. The benefits of our Toastmaster relationship are a two-way street. As we become better individuals,we help others improve as well.
