Welcome! This is a group for non-European-descent mixed-race/multiethnic Singaporean families living anywhere in the world, and for non-European mixed-race/multiethnic families (of any nationality) living in Singapore.

Why specifically form a club for non-Eurasian mixed families?

• Nothing at all against Eurasians (in fact, a number of my blood relatives are Eurasians). But while Eurasians already have their own association, there are no support groups for Chinese-Indian families, Indian-Malay families, Chinese-Malay families, etc.

• The other reason for forming this club is the issue of prejudice. Not all interracial families are equal in the eyes of society. There are certainly some people in Singapore who do not welcome Europeans into their family. But anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that Asian prejudice against non-Europeans, local or foreign, is even more severe than bias against ang mohs. Some Singaporean parents will disapprove mildly of an ang moh son-in-law or daughter-in-law, but they will react even more strongly if their children marry someone of African descent or even someone from another Asian ethnic group.

All kinds of families are welcome here - adoptive families, biological families, gay and lesbian families, single parents. You don't even have to be part of a multiracial family to join this group. Any supporter is welcome.

1. This is a family-friendly forum, NOT a dating club. All material deemed inappropriate for children will be rejected.
2. The moderator(s) will reject any postings deemed to be disrespectful to other members, off-topic or spam, no explanations given.
3. This is not a forum for political discussion. (We want to stay out of trouble, don't we? ;-)
