As you know there is no Ki Aikido or Yushinkai Dojos in Sri Lanka I
would like request free study material to improve our knowledge in

Ki & then we can give good ki teaching other people, so they can also
improve there lives. Because I know the Importance of the teachings.
Unfortunately there are no persons guide us here in Sri Lanka.
So any one would like help me please contact me.
, thanks!

Hi Gabby,
Price is $800. The denim and stitching cost about $1100 all up, plus
one very hot and sweaty day in Brigina's garage in Byron Bay stitching
it up. It has not been used much (don't have a huge population in
Hidden Valley Dojo). I'd say it still has 90%+ useful life left in it.
I think there is only one small hole less than the size of a 5 cent
piece.
It weighs about 40 kg and is folded into a box 1m by 1m by .6m.
Cheers

Gabby here. I'm interested - how much? How worn is it? We have a denim cover for the mats at our Dutton Park dojo but it's part of the old mat from Byron so it's really worn and really slippery. If we can afford it I'm really hoping I can talk Danny and the others into getting a new one because it makes ukemi a little tricky.
How's things going down there? How often do you train?:You training on the weekends at all?
Tim Winton here from Hidden Valley Dojo (not too far from Byron Bay). I have a denim mat cover for sale. Same material and stiching as
Goshinkan's. It will cover 8m by 10m of mats with plenty left for tucking under. It is in very good conditon. We have a new all purpose floor covering that does quite nicely for Aikido so we won't be needing it. (Saves a lot of
streching, tugging and tucking every class).
Anyone interested can contact me on this email.
Happy training.
Cheers

As many of you are aware, we have had Goshinkan on the market for the last year. The time has come when it looks like the final contracts will be exchanged and Valerie, Shani and myself will relocate to Fiji to establish Aikido dojos in that country. Goshinkan will continue to run exactly as before under the excellent guidance of Jim Nicholls and Elisabeth Andel. Elisabeth Andel will still be the Aikido Yuishinkai International multi-media coordinator for the group. I still retain the position of International Chief Instructor and Chief Instructor for Australia. Valerie will continue in her capacity of correspondence and promotions.
On the 25th of March, there will be two classes ( 10:00-12:00 and 3:00-5:00) , followed by an evening get-together (starting at 7:30), in the dojo for us to farewell all of you. On Sunday morning at 10:00am, there will be a large Yudansha grading. As you know, I keep a list of all black belts in Australia who are currently practicing (approximately 80). Therefore, I list below those I would be honoured to grade prior to my departure. In future, I will visit Australia for regular seminars, including those with Maruyama Sensei. We are currently making arrangement for Sensei's visit in October, when he will do an Australian tour to a number of different venues, including Goshinkan.
Hello All
Due to lack of numbers My weekend to Byron Bay is cancelled.
Dont forget the fairwell seminar in march/april, it is not to be missed

Hi All,
Have begun working on a chronology of Ki Aikido in Australia - but
still very much a work in progress and grammatical expression :). Its
maintained on the following page...
http://griffithaikido.com/kiaikidoaustralia.html
I'd be interested in contributions/corrections people might have, in
particular the development of Kokikai in Australia.
best wishes,
danny

HI All,
We just got a new website up and running.
please take a gander at
http://www.crookedbranchaikido.com/
there are some typos & other errs to be adressed, but
its a start.
its a skeleton just yet, no fancy flash images or sexy
nudes to
draw the crowds, but in time...
we hope to have some pictures (in our training pyjamas
no less) up in jan/feb.
I'd love to hear your feedback, witty or wise.
I hope the holidays find you all well and healthy,
Deston

Just back from LA. I managed to see my optometrist and I'm assured my baby blues are 100% copacetic.
Ken Suburi Sensei always says to keep your friends close and your enemies closer. So when can we get together? LOL
You know, I couldn't believe my eyes either at that Cleveland grading. Why do you think one person got a GI Joe grading, while the other got a Cabbage Patch grading?
Sorry, but I'm a little confused...you were at the gradings on Monday?? I guess I could be forgiven for not spotting a 12cm plastic doll amongst all the action but I would NEVER ignore you BB!! Anyway, how come you didn't come and say hi to me?!
I'm also wondering if you might need to see an optometrist... Don't stress - I can recommend one who is the kind of beefcake that I'm sure you wouldn't mind having staring into your eyes. I admit that my hair has been "jap-retro" style (as you suggested) in the past, but I died it dark brown on Sunday night - not a grey highlight in sight! Perhaps you are remembering me from a recent seminar???
Of course I was there, Gabby! I couldn't believe you ignored me like that! I guess you just didn't notice me?!
Unfortunately I only just arrived in time for the gradings (I was unavoidably detained waiting for my nails to dry), so I too missed the sock wrestling.
You and I seem to be on the same schedule (arrive late, leave early). It's almost like we're sisters, if not one and the same person! We should get together and swap tips. I'm totally loving those grey highlights. So jap-retro!
I hear that Kendo Kendoll described the sock wrestling as looking like a couple of girls fighting over a frock at the Myer stocktake sale. I'm sure you and I could teach them a thing or two on both counts ;)
Young David's grading was a highlight for me. Ken Suburi Sensei always says that good things come in small packages. But I think good things come in packages with expensive brand names on them.
As for Kevin, what a man! an Action Man. Mattel have been looking for new talent and I'll certainly be pointing the scouts Kevin's way. I can't wait to see his nidan.

PS I'm not sure what that lovely Simon has planned for Easter but it sure sounds exciting.
I would like to congratulate everyone who graded last night too.
Highlights for me were; * Trying to hit Kev on the head (thanks Kevvy, you were lovely and soft with me like I asked) * The look of pride and joy on Tony Neil Sensei's face when David pulled off a tricky technique * Bruce's enthusiastic attacks (we miss you Bruce!) * The band downstairs. Was it just me or did anyone else notice David's rhythm in his Jo katas being affected by the *cough* sublime tunes coming from below?? Perhaps we could introduce a new element to the gradings where nage has to perform techniques to the timing of a song being played? Personally I would like to see "Eye of the Tiger" being played when Ben Tan does his shodan grading.
All up it was a highly entertaining night as the personalities of nage and uke's came shining out.
My only disappointment is that I missed the sock wrestling before class.
Gabby p.s. did anyone see Budo Babe Barbie last night? I heard from Kendo Kendoll that she might be attending...
I know what you mean, I get pretty vague myself at times. Should I wear this? Should I endorse that? Does this classic Vespa go with these nails? Sometimes even I'm not sure whether I'm all there or not.
The whole Barbie persona can be very confusing: there's "Court Appearance Barbie", "Hounded by the Paparazzi Barbie", and now "Mistrusted by my Friends Barbie". With Polly Pocket and the Bratz on the scene it's really hard to know who a girl can count on.
Ken Suburi Sensei always says, "Don't focus on the weapon, focus on the attacker". I say, "don't focus on the price, focus on the label". Do you know what I mean?
It's funny you should mention eyes and optometrists. I'm in LA to sponsor a program for dolls whose eyes close whenever they're laid on their backs. It's barbaric if you ask me. Maybe we could catch up when I get back?
Sorry, but I'm a little confused...you were at the gradings on Monday?? I guess I could be forgiven for not spotting a 12cm plastic doll amongst all the action but I would NEVER ignore you BB!! Anyway, how come you didn't come and say hi to me?!

Hey all,
I was pleasantly suprised when scrolling through the Aikido Journal Newsletter
this morning that they have published an interview with Maruyama Sensei in their
latest edition. It's posted at
http://www.aikidojournal.com/article.php?articleID=667
The website seems to be down at the moment but I'm sure it'll be back up soon.
The preview paragraph made me smile from good seminar memories with the quote
"When he attacks, I'll make a lizard step pom, pom, pom!"
Cheers,
Gabby
