Japan Aikido Friendship Seminar
 May 2-4 2010
Matsusaka, Mie Prefecture,
Hosted by  Yoshitake Hashimoto sensei, Founder Junshinkai Aikido

Featuring Instructors
Master Koretoshi Maruyama Sensei, Founder Aikido Yuishinkai
Minoru Oshima Sensei, Founder Kodokai Aikido
Michael Williams Sensei, International Chief instructor Aikido Yuishinkai
Okajima Sensei, Osaka Chief instructor Aikido Yuishinkai

Seminar programme
Join a fabulous line up of senior instructors from Japan and around the world for three days of exploring aikido without boundaries and  building a bridge between Japan and Australia.

Located in Matsusaka its only a short ferry ride (45min) across the bay from Nagoya airport and takes you back in time as you enter rural old stye Japan. A 3 day intensive aikido seminar will have you relaxing each night in the sento (traditional bath house) before enjoying traditional local foods. Enjoy top class training facilities on a umm.. 250 mat dojo on a sprung wooden floor.

After the seminar we visit the Ise shrine (perhaps Japans most important shrine)  that is  well off the tourist track and rarely visited by westerners. Enjoy the atmosphere, traditional foods and crafts. Only a day later find yourself in Takayama lodging for two nights traditional style in traditional Japanese lodgings. For those time poor already a week (9 days)has gone by and its time to go home and back to work.

Those with a little more time and cashed up can  stay on for fabulous Kyoto (the old capital), maybe koyasan and then hit the new capital Tokyo (which has the same number of people as Australia living in it) maybe staying at Andrew Sunters favourite hotel the Andon Ryokan and then head home the following Friday or stay longer and hump a backpack (for the independant travellers amongst you)

Hi all,

With the soon to be arriving new addition to our
family, I don't see that I'll ever have the need for
four gi's again therefore I'm selling two of them.

They are both size 3, one is in excellent condition,
selling for $35 and the other is in very good
condition for $25.

I'm in Brisbane and sorry, pick up only. You can
contact me off list at this address.

Cheers,

Since then I got interested in various styles including Yoshinkan and Kokikai and Iwama. My then wife Rain and I started the Northern Rivers Aikido Association which went for 4 years.

It was strange to be on the mat again but after only one class I have gotten the ‘bug’ again and will start training in the new year. I live in Corinda in Brisbane. Is there anyone close to me who would like to train? I have 4x5 metres of mats. As I am starting after such a  long time I am willing to train at any level.

Which is the closest club to Corinda?

My name is now Rudran but I was known as Shane or Kelly back then when I was training with Ki Society.

Hi,

If you're having trouble logging in then select the 'forgotten my password' option at the login page. The passwords were encrypted in the database and may have got a little muddled in the move, but the email address should be fine. The board will email you your password (or a issue a new one which you can change later).

Cheers

mike

Hey! Really good - well done!!
Really enjoyed seeing you the other week; just sorry dinner wasn't possible.
Danny - you don't have to organise the whole world, just relax a little. If there is anything I can do let me know.

Do you know anything about this aikitaiki group? Apparently I have been signed up, but I don't know who organised it, what the sign-in/logons etc are.
BTW - I am quite happy to step up and take a more high profile role if that is what people want or need. I'm not keen to do that as a rule as there are some "sensitive" people/seniors who would resent that.
cheers,
