If you have practical reasons that will help the members here,
I'm sure they will be interested to meet-up. By the way I'm not
the moderator. But I'm one of the member of herpescureresearch.org.

All i can say right now is i guess we need to help Duke University
to fund their research for herpes cure. At the moment they need
$ 1 Million Dollars to fund the research. I guess we need to have
a campaign here in the philippines to convince rich people
here in our country or all the people that is infected by this
virus to donate to Duke University. Or we can setup our own
Research Lab here in the philippines and include it in herpescureresearch.org

hey everyone!

i got diagnosed with genital herpes a little more than 2 weeks ago. it's
definitely been a roller coaster ride of emotions since then. my outbreak,
although extremely painful, lasted for only a week. i've been off the acyclovir
for a week now, tweaked a few things in my diet and am trying to fix my sleeping
patterns as well. no point in tempting fate too soon, right?

a bunch of my friends already know and they have been amazingly supportive, even
educating themselves in the virus as well. but i still feel the need to talk to
people who've been diagnosed and are living with this virus. i'm already a
member of the HC support forum and i've been reading some posts each day. it
would be nice to meet someone face-to-face and discuss this though. i read some
old posts that this group doesn't really do meetings but i'm wondering if anyone
would like to meet up for coffee, or green tea since caffeine is supposedly bad?
just send me a pm if you're interested. :)

anyone else care to meet up?

i have another question though, how much is the test here? i'm patiently waiting
2-3 months before i get the blood test but i read somewhere that it's expensive.
my partner seems positive for HSV1; he said he's had cold sores on his lips
since childhood. and i'm thinking i may have GHSV1 instead of GHSV2. i told my
doctor this and she said it's highly unlikely but still i'd like to have to test
to verify. knowing will help with my prevention of transmission in the future.
