sorry to those who are in the Tassie tigers patrol but unfortunately most of the group is unavailable tonight only leaving the two cubs and myself. so if smitty's patrol can adopt his sister and her friend if that is ok/or not, just for tonight because our patrol has nothing planned.

This week will be at the Den as normal where we will be having an evening of initialtive & teamwork games. I will also have the screen printing gear to do more centenary t-shirts if scouts did not get a chance to do one on camp, had extra shirts to print or else did not come on camp.
We are also planning to have a Patrol Night for next Friday, so bring your ideas and we can discuss this in our patrols.

Greetings Scouts! Glider here-I am prepping to go back to the states for
another trip.
I don't want to take any US scout badges back home-I want to take Australian
badges to trade! (and return Australian badges to those US scouts who gave me US
badges to trade during my last trip home).
So, think about bringing some extra badges, scarves, woggles, hats, T-shirts
etc. you would like to trade.
Dingo, Wolf, Chil, Adelade and others have made some trades, but I have several
badges left. Wolf also bought some badge packs from District ($10/pack) that we
can trade for.
also, at least 2 US scouts are interested in the "green" advancement books. I
know you are using yours (for advancement), but if you have an extra lying
around, they want to trade!
Three of the packs are spoken for, others are open (bring your $$) and Wolf/I
can get more!

Hi everyone
I have brought home a scout shirt from the Patrol camp that isn't mine. It must be Robert's because he didn't wear one back. I will bring it on Friday - or he can pick it up from my house during the week. It's clean!
Also, my dinner plate which was used as a lid did not come back so it is probably in the patrol box. Oops.

Just a quick reminder that this week is Halloween and we will be having a evening of Halloween Party Games and Fun! Thanks to all who have replied to let me know what treats they will be bringing, it is very much appreciated and great to see everyone has come up with something different so far.
I wanted to also invite you to bring along your favorite music! I have plenty of mine on hand, but you may be too young to appreciate 90's alternate & 80's pub rock!
And don't forget there will be Prizes for best dressed and most creative use of materials!

I hope that you all had a great holiday break and are ready to get back into term 4 of Scouting. This friday will be at the Den. We'll just be easing back into the term with a fun night making our very own custom woggles. I have a variety of materials including leather, fabric, cord & Fimo putty to utelise. I would also suggest that those Scouts who have been undertaking Proficiency Badges bring along an update on how they are proceeding, and those who have yet to start should bring along a proposal addressing the requirements laid out in the Green Badge Book.
I have listed as many upcoming events as I can below and would greatly appreciate if you can let me know which you are planning to attend. I would strongly urge you all to consider the Canoe Course on offer and the Back 2 Basics
Competition Camp. I would expect that we will have full attendance to the Centenary Camp, a definate once in a lifetime weekend.
I also know that there are still a few of you who require a hike to complete your Pioneer Award, and the Venturers will be hiking through Samford to BP Park. Those who are keen to aim for higher awards should get cracking if they would like to undertake the Explorer of Adventurer Level Journey before the end of the year!
Upcoming Dates:
Weekend Hike to BP Park with Venturers - October 16th - 18th (suitable for Pioneer Hike, further info available upon request) Canoe Course - October 16th - 18th (see attached) Indooroopilly Centenary Camp - November 6th - 8th (see attached) PL

Hello All,
Just a quick message to let you all know that we are meeting as usual at the Den
at 7:00pm this Friday. We will be spending some time to finalise as much
badgework as we can and hopefully award quite a few.
Many Scouts have been working on Proficiency Badges and it would be great if
they could bring along something to show their progress to the Troop.
Glider has also asked me to remind you that he is in the USA setting up some
badge trading with his regular Troop and if any Scouts have any badges that they
would like to trade to bring them along in a marked envelope. He had told me
that the Koala Patrol Emblem I gave him was very popular, so you may like to pay
a visit to the Scout Shop (Dixon St Auchenflower) to grab yourselves some
trading badges.

I have a whole slew of patches, t-shirts, scares and the like from the
US scouting (BSA) that are for trades. Saturday may be a good time to
make the trades for anyone interested-scouts (including cubs/Joeys),
scouts, rovers, venturers, parents, adult leaders....
Just a quick reminder that we are having a cooking night on Friday meeting at the Den as usual for 7pm start.
Please remember to bring your permission & money for Laserforce (on Friday 18th).
Also another reminder that we have the trivia night on Saturday and have not heard back from just about anyone as to your availability to assist and what you are bringing. We would greatly appreciate all the assistance we can get on the night and for everyone to bake something to sell (cakes, cookies, meranges etc...) Even if you can't make it on saturday, please show your support by bringing something on Friday.
As we discussed on Friday night,
we need your assistance at the trivia night.
Please see the following and
respond to Katherine Pavlenko-Butters (butters@...)

Brisbane
City Council is running a competition to name the HaleStreetBridge. Go to www.namethatbridge.com.au to vote
for ‘PercyHanlonSnrBridge’. I did not know anything about
it until a friend at the BCC emailed me today to say it had been short listed
and wanted to know if it was any relation.
Percy
Hanlon Snr is my Grandfather and ran the Regatta to West
End service from 1922 to 1955. He starting out with a row boat
that took 16 people and eventually upgraded to motorized and finished with a
boat similar to the wooden ones you see on the River still. He spent most of
his life on the river and my father grew up helping out on the Ferry before and
after school and while he spend his career in Queensland Rail, he occasional
found himself filling in for Ferryman and upon his retirement took up part-time
employment on the morning shift of the UQ to Dutton Park service. He also wrote
a book on the subject (titled ‘Oh-ver:
History of the BrisbaneCrossRiver
Ferries’). The regatta ferry ceased in 1976 when the flood washed the jetty
away, but has recently resumed service thanks to the sponsorship of the Regatta
Hotel, XXXX and the Brisbane City Council.
Please forward to anyone you think may like to vote.
Thanks everyone and I would appreciate your support (and your friends')
Just a quick message to let you all know that we are meeting as usual at the Den at 7:00pm this Friday. We will be spending some time to finalise as much badgework as we can and hopefully award quite a few.
Many Scouts have been working on Proficiency Badges and it would be great if they could bring along something to show their progress to the Troop.
Glider has also asked me to remind you that he is in the USA setting up some badge trading with his regular Troop and if any Scouts have any badges that they would like to trade to bring them along in a marked envelope. He had told me that the Koala Patrol Emblem I gave him was very popular, so you may like to pay a visit to the Scout Shop (Dixon St Auchenflower) to grab yourselves some trading badges.
Also to let you know ahead of time, Friday 18th September will be the
last Friday Meeting for Term 3 and we will be heading to Laser Force for an end of term break up. Please bring the attached form. Prices vary depending if you require to pay for membership (for first timers only).
